BoonDocker Route Overview

Routes allow users to leave a route of where they have traveled while the GPS was On-Line or allow users to create a route of where they plan to travel while the GPS is Off-Line. 

Routes differ from Tracs in that they can be created offline and that they have vertices (points) that can be labeled, edited and moved.

Users are allowed to manage up to 6 Routes at a time.  Routes can be Paused and Continued, Sub-Routes can be generated and Routes can be Saved and Loaded for DisplayUsers can select the Route Color, Width and Interval in the Options menu.

Users can Plot an Elevation Profile of a displayed Route.

Route Number

The user can select up to 6 different Routes.  Colored box above number signifies current status of Route.

 

No Route

 

The Route is loaded and can be displayed.

 

Current New Auto Generated On-Line Route is Paused and can be Continued.

 

1) A New Auto Generated On-Line Route is being created or Continued.
2) Creating a New Manual Route Off-Line.
3) Creating a New Quick Manual Route Off-Line

 

The Route is being displayed.

 

Editing the Route

Current Route Mode

The user selects the Route Mode of the currently selected Route.  Box above selected Route Number will change to selected mode color.

 

Off 

Turn the Route Off.  Route can be Displayed.

 

Pause

Pause the Currently Auto Generated On-Line Route. 
Route can be Continued.

 

Auto New
Continue

Generate a Auto Generated On-Line Route or
Continue the Paused Auto Generated On-Line Route.

 

Display

Display the currently selected Route.

 

Edit

Edit the currently selected Route.

 

Man New

Create a Route Manually Off-Line. 

 

Quick New

Create a Quick Route Manually Off-Line. 

Creation and Edit Mode Details

  • Auto New Route
    This option allows user create an Auto Generated on-Line Route utilizing the GPS coordinates during the route traveled. 

    The Route utilizes the Resolution (Interval), Width, Color and Label Display option in the Route Options menu. 

    Additional points can be added at the current GPS location by pressing the "P" Accelerator Key. 

    This Route: can be Paused and Continued; and once completed can be Displayed and Edited.
     

  • Manual New Route
    This option allows user create a Route Off-Line of where they plan to travel. 

    User simply taps the Stylus on the screen to add Route points.  Points are always small square colored symbols.  The first point is always Green, the last point is always Red and the intermediate points are always Gold BoonDocker will automatically bring up the Manually Add Route dialog were the user can change the Route Label Name from the default and add a Description.

    The Route utilizes the Resolution (Interval), Width, Color and Label Display option in the Route Options menu. 

    This Route once completed can be Displayed and Edited.
     

  • Quick New Route
    This option allows user create a Route Off-Line of where they plan to travel without the Manually Add Route dialog being displayed after the point is added.

    User simply taps the Stylus on the screen to add Route points.  Points are always small square colored symbols.  The first point is always Green, the last point is always Red and the intermediate points are always Gold

    The Route utilizes the Resolution (Interval), Width, Color and Label Display option in the Route Options menu.

    This Route once completed can be Displayed and Edited.
     

  • Edit Route
    Users can Edit an a Route by tapping the point symbol with the Stylus.  BoonDocker will automatically bring up the Edit Route Point dialog were the user can change the Route point Label Name, change the Description, Add a point forward or backwards from the selected point or Delete the selected point.

    Users can Move (Shift Key Must be Pressed Down or Locked) a Route point by touching the point symbol with the Stylus and dragging to the new location.  BoonDocker will automatically bring up the Edit Route Point dialog were the user can change the Route point Label Name, change the Description, Add a point forward or backwards from the selected point or Delete the point.

Menu Buttons

Press Menu Buttons along bottom of Dialog to initiate selected option.

OK

Saves current settings of the dialog then Exits.

Cancel

Cancels the current settings reverting to setting prior to loading the dialog then Exits.

?

Initiate Help for the current dialog.

Plot

Plot the Route Elevation Profile of the currently display Route.

Info

Initiate the Route Information Dialog.  Displays the Current Route Info plus file name, description, time generated and Route Space Available, Route Length and Time. 

Opts

Initiate the Route Options Dialog.  Allows users to select Route Color, Width, Interval and Display the point Name (Labels).

Save

Initiate the Save Route Dialog.  Allows users to save the Current Route to a file.  User can specify filename and add a description.  User can also just Clear the current Route.

Load

Initiate the Load Route Dialog.  Allows users to load in a Route into the currently selected Route.  Once loaded the Route Information and Description is displayed.  Also allows users to Delete a Route.
